About Cozy Cove

Situated on a long, sloping lot along the shores of Lake Washington, this contemporary home was designed for a family of five seeking a spacious, light-filled, and serene environment. The design balances modern minimalism with the warmth and comfort of traditional elements, resulting in a home that is at once clean, inviting, and thoughtfully composed.

The house is organized to prioritize views and natural light, with primary family gathering spaces oriented toward the lake. A great room serves as the central informal gathering space which flows into a living room and a TV/homework room beyond, all aligned along the lake-facing side to capture the full panorama. The formal dining room is set behind the living room, creating a more intimate, cozy setting, while the office is tucked to the rear with views of a private garden, providing a quiet retreat.

Architecturally, the home features gable roofs, clean lines, and contemporary interpretations of traditional forms. Expansive windows, designed with a steel-like aesthetic, frame views and flood the interiors with natural light, enhancing the bright, airy character of the spaces. Walls and trim are kept light to maximize the Pacific Northwest sunshine, even during winter months, while warm wood tones in cabinetry and trim provide a tactile balance to the white interiors.

The result is a home that is both minimal and cozy, modern yet warm, designed for casual family living while celebrating its remarkable lakeside setting.
