Gabriel Vargas, AIA, LEED AP Homes

Project Manager
He who seeks truth, shall find beauty. He who seeks beauty, shall find vanity. He who seeks order, shall find gratification. He who seeks gratification, shall find disappointment. He who considers himself a servant of his fellow beings, shall find joy of self-expression. He who seeks self-expression, shall fall to the pit of arrogance. Arrogance is incompatible with nature. Through nature, the nature of the universe and the nature of man, we shall seek truth. If we seek truth, we shall find beauty.
~ Moshe Dafdie

Gabriel received his Bachelor’s and Master’s equivalent in his birth town of Santa Fé De Bogotá  D.C. and came directly to Seattle to start his career and to continue studies in Residential Architecture and Project Management at the University of Washington. Since 2001, Gabriel has gained experience working in several project types, including transit, multifamily, libraries, community centers, synagogues, and custom homes in places like Colombia, China, the Bahamas, Florida and Seattle and its surroundings. His passion has always been excellence in creative design while being conscious of any impacts to the environment.

Gabriel joined Stuart Silk Architects in 2007, but left for a time to live in Miami, where he primarily designed contemporary waterfront homes . He was also co-chair of the Sea Level Rise Task Force by the American Institute of Architects, which generated positive and well needed zoning changes for this water-troubled part of the world.

Since he always considered Seattle his home, Gabriel found the opportunity to return to Seattle and came back to Stuart Silk at the beginning of 2022.

Outside of the Silk Cavassa Marchetti office, Gabriel is constantly involved with photography, Latin dance, cooking, hiking, traveling, and rooting for our Seattle Sounders with his son Nox.
