David was born with design and construction in his DNA. His father, uncle, and brother have all made their livings building and/or designing custom homes. David began working as a carpenter early in high school, and continued to, on and off all through college. After obtaining his architecture degree from the University of Washington in 2000, he valued the experience gained by working in the field and continued to hone his skills building custom homes, while simultaneously picking up freelance design work.
David joined Silk Cavassa Marchetti in 2004, and began managing projects within the year. After seven great years with Silk Cavassa Marchetti, he left for a time to pursue his own architectural ambitions. After four years out on his own, David decided to rejoin the SCM team, which he did in early 2015.
David excels at truly hearing and understanding a client’s hopes and dreams and successfully translating them into a home that is both highly functional and truly beautiful. His relentless pursuit of the elusive “aha moment,” extensive construction experience, and positive, hardworking attitude make him a very well-rounded and highly valued member of the SCM team.
